“用英语讲中国故事大会”是由中国国家创新与发展战略研究会、中国教育电视台与新航道国际教育集团联合主办的一项面向海内外青少年的活动，旨在为广大青少年提供一个弘扬中华优秀文化、与世界交流的平台，充分引领更多青少年成为中国故事的讲述者，为中华文化代言。
To promote cultural exchange and communication among global youth, as well as to showcase achievements of international Chinese language education, New Channel International Education Group, together with China Education Television, is holding the 6th “Stories of China Retold in English” Challenge.
一、活动对象 Participants
来华留学生组：面向在我校全体来华留学生。
All international students at FJMU
二、 作品要求 Requirements
选手模拟舞台现场使用非母语（以中文为主）拍摄作品，录制不超过1.5分钟的视频，在线提交视频作品。
Contestants recite in front of the camera, record a video of no more than 1.5 minutes, and submit the video online. Participants are also required to present the video in their non-native language(preferably in Chinese).
三、作品形式 Forms
选手可以从朗诵、地方故事撰写和朗读、自我介绍三种形式中选择其一。
The contestants will prepare their entries in one of 3 forms: “Recitation”, “Local Story Writing & Retelling” and “Self-Introductions”. The details are as follows:
（一）朗诵 Recitation
选手从推荐故事段落中选1篇，或从推荐图书中选1篇朗诵。
Contestants may select and recite one of the recommended story excerpts, or any article from the recommended books.
（二）地方故事撰写和朗读 Local Story Writing & Retelling
选手撰写地方短篇故事并朗读，须围绕中国元素展开创作内容。其中“故事主体”不是选手个人、“地方”以选手高校所在地为主、“中国元素”包含且不限于中国风物、习俗、人物、成就、艺术或精神。故事应该有一个清晰的叙事结构，包括“故事开头（介绍背景和主要人物）”“故事主体（叙述主要事件以及故事高潮）”和“故事结尾（鼓励创意生动的故事结局）”。
Contestants shall draft a short local story based on Chinese elements. Please be careful not to use the contestants themselves as the subject of the story, “Local” refers to the location of the contestant's university. Chinese elements include but are not limited to Chinese cultural icons, Chinese customs, Chinese great figures, Chinese achievements, Chinese arts, or Chinese spirit.The story should have a clear narrative structure, including a “beginning(introducing the setting and main characters)”, a “body (describing the main events and the climax of the story)”， and an “ending (creative endings are especially encouraged)”.
（三）自我介绍 Self-Introduction
选手从自身出发展开介绍。自我介绍内容须含有中国元素，包含且不限于中国风物、习俗、人物、成就、艺术或精神。
The contestant needs to introduce himself /herself. The content of the introduction shall contain Chinese elements, which include but are not limited to Chinese cultural icons, Chinese customs, Chinese great figures, Chinese achievements, Chinese arts, or Chinese spirit.
四、录制要求 Recording Requirements
1. 选手自选作品形式后，请使用非母语（以中文为主）录制个人原创视频作品，请务必注意展示过程和视频中不要透露个人信息，例如：英文姓名、校名、学院/专业、校服/校徽、校门/教学楼等；
Contestants could choose one form to prepare their original video in a nonnative language (preferably Chinese). Please be sure not to disclose the contestants personal information during the presentation or in the video, college/major, school uniform/school logo, school gate/ teaching building, etc.
2. 请保持人声录制清晰、面部光线明亮、环境安静；
Please ensure clear audio, bright facial lighting, and a quiet recording environment.
3. 录制前可自行准备背景、PPT、服装道具等来辅助模拟现场；
Please prepare backgrounds, PPTs, costumes and props in advance to help simulate a live scene during recording.
4. 如使用手机类移动设备，建议采用横屏拍摄，以便展示上半身及完整肢体语言、获得更高的画面质量、有机会入选特色选手宣传视频；
If using a mobile device such as a smartphone, record in landscape orientation to show your upper body and full body language for better video quality, so that you have the chance to be selected for featured contestants' promotional videos.
5. 请不要在视频中添加活动不相关、雷同或抄袭等涉嫌作弊的不规范内容。
Any content that is irrelevant, duplicate, plagiarized, or suspected of cheating is strictly prohibited.
五、文件规格 Video Guidelines
1. 视频文件时长最多1.5分钟，支持格式支持mp4、flv、mkv、rmvb 等视频格式，视频文件最大200M;
Video is maximum 1.5 minutes long, and the supported file formats are mp4, flv, mkv, rmvb, etc. The maximum video file size is 200M.
2. 故事文稿支持doc、docx、pdf、txt、jpg 、png格式附件和文本输入。
Story manuscripts support attachments in doc, docx, pdf, txt, jpg, and png formats, as well as text input.
六、报名方式 Registration Method
参赛学生可向留学生工作办公室报名并提交作品；或采用邮箱提交作品：oecxgb@fjmu.edu.cn，邮件主题为“The 6th Stories of China Retold in English Challenge+学号+姓名”，邮件正文附上学号、姓名、联系方式。作品提交时间截止为2026年3月5日。
Students participating in the competition can register and submit their works directly to their Chinese language course instructor; or you can submit works to the School by sending an email to oecxgb@fjmu.edu.cn.
The subject of the email should be “The 6th Stories of China Retold in English Challenge+your student ID+your name”, and the body of the email should include the student's ID number, name, and contact information. The submission deadline is March 5th, 2026.
