In December 2023, our school successfully held the Training Workshop for Education Faculty and Administrative Staff of Overseas Students in China. More than 80 clinical teachers and teaching administrators from five clinical teaching bases for overseas students, including the Concord Clinical Medical College, the First Clinical Medical College, the Provincial Clinical Medical College, Fuzhou Mental Health Prevention and Treatment Hospital, and Mengchao Hepatobiliary Hospital, attended the training. The workshop was divided into two stages: the opening ceremony and expert lectures, and four sessions of workshops. The aim was to provide a platform for mutual exchange and experience sharing for the education faculty and administrative staff of overseas students in China, further enhancing the teaching and management level of overseas student education in China and continuously optimizing the construction of the overseas student team.

Opening Ceremony and Expert Lectures

Vice President She Feifei attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, pointing out that overseas student education in China is an important part of openness to the outside world and plays a crucial role in the overall diplomatic work of the country. She hoped that the teachers would love the cause of overseas student education in China, actively engage in the work of overseas student education in China, and build the Fuyi Brand for overseas student education in China, making due contributions to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. The opening ceremony also invited Professor Zhong Zhaohua from Harbin Medical University and Professor Yu Bin from Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to deliver speeches on the topics of Quality Assurance and Enhancement of Clinical Medical Education for Overseas Students in China and How to Integrate Clinical Cases into Basic Medical Education, respectively. They focused on talent cultivation, curriculum construction, faculty team, management mechanism, and particularly on how to improve the quality of clinical medical education for overseas students in China, sharing experiences and discussions.

Four Sessions of Workshops

The series of workshops were divided into one session for the main campus and three sessions for clinical work. The workshops broke away from the traditional lecture mode, with more interactivity and inspiration, creating a lively atmosphere on-site. Each session of the workshop invited the Teaching and Research Office, the Student Affairs Office of the Overseas Education Institute, and the Chinese Language Teachers to introduce the school's policies on recruiting overseas students in China, the overall situation of overseas students in China, and the management regulations. It also invited internal supervisory experts to share experiences and techniques in teaching, including writing standard teaching plans, standardizing group lesson preparation, curriculum platform construction, and archiving and management of teaching files. During the discussion and interaction session, trainees and experts engaged in in-depth exchanges on specific issues.

The trainees expressed their determination to use the training as an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned to the practice of teaching overseas students in China, contributing to the implementation of the national Belt and Road initiative and the Study in China program, and cultivating more high-quality students who are knowledgeable about China, friendly to China, and love China. Our school will also take this training and exchange opportunity to solidify the construction of the school's international education connotation and promote the improvement of the quality and efficiency of overseas student education in China.
