III. Application Requirements
1. Nationality Requirements
(1) Non-Chinese citizens, physically and mentally healthy (without color blindness or color weakness).
(2) Those whose parents (one or both) are Chinese citizens and have settled in a foreign country, who have foreign nationality at the time of their birth, and who immigrate from the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan to foreign countries, as applicants for studying in China, must hold valid foreign passports or international certification documents for at least 4 years, and there is a record of actual residence abroad for at least 2 years in the past 4 years (as of April 30th of the enrollment year).
2. Age and Education Requirements
Applicants for a master's degree should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications, excellent academic performance, and generally not older than 35 years old.
Applicants for a doctoral degree should have a master's degree or equivalent, have excellent academic performance, and generally be no older than 40 years old.
3. Language Requirements
(1) For degree programs taught in Chinese, applicants should in principle have attained at least Level 4 in the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK).
(2) For degree programs taught in English, non-native English speakers must provide proof of English proficiency, such as an IELTS (Academic) score of no less than 6.0 overall with no band below 5.0, or a TOEFL (Internet-based test) score of no less than 70 overall with no section below 15, or other equivalent test results. Native English speakers or those whose entire previous degree was conducted entirely in English may be exempt from submitting English test scores but must provide official documentation from their prior institution confirming the medium of instruction or their English grades.
IV. Application materials
1. A scanned copy of valid passport information page.
2. Proof of highest academic qualification. If the applicant is a student, he/she must submit a pre-graduation certificate or a certificate of enrollment issued by the school he/she is attending.
3. Academic transcripts (from undergraduate level). Scanned transcripts should include grades from undergraduate, master's (if any) and doctoral (if any) study stages up to the most recent semester. Transcripts can be provided in Chinese/English, if in a language other than English, an English translation must be provided and notarized; if the transcripts do not directly show the total GPA, a GPA certificate issued by the school must also be provided.
4. ID Photo (2-inch bareheaded photo with blue background).
5. A scanned copy of the Letter of Financial Guarantee for International Students from Fujian Medical University and the guarantee material, which proves the personal financial proof or the source of financial resources in terms of family financial support, governmental financial support, or sponsorship by the financial guarantor.
6. Scanned copy of the original copy of
Physical Examination Form for Foreigners.pdf, which is uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department and must be completed in Chinese or English.
7. Proof of language proficiency.
8. Study and research program in China (in Chinese or English, not less than 800 words).
9. Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors.

11. Published academic papers or academic achievements (to be submitted if applying for a doctoral degree).

V. Application Methods
1. Applicants for non-Chinese Government Scholarship Programs should log on to the International Student Service Platform of Fujian Medical University ( https://studyinfjmu.fjmu.edu.cn/#/login)to complete the online application and upload the required application materials.

VI. Review and Admission
The College of Overseas Education conducts a preliminary examination of the applicant's materials and notifies the applicant in writing to pay the application fee after passing the preliminary examination; the applicant is allowed to undergo the academic examination only after paying the application fee, which is non-refundable regardless of whether he/she is admitted or not.
Upon receipt of the notification of academic assessment from the College of Overseas Education, the professional faculty will conduct the assessment by interview (academic assessment) according to the applicant's situation and professional requirements.
★ Pre-admission notification will be announced in batches starting from January 2026. Applicants of self-financed programs are required to confirm the prepayment of tuition fee within the deadline; otherwise, they are considered to give up their pre-admission status.
★ Applicants can check the admission result on the International Student Service Platform of Fujian Medical University, and the university will then send the Admission Notice with the official seal of the university, and 《the Application Form for Visa Application Form for Foreign Students in China》 (JW201/JW202).
★ After receiving 《the Admission Notice》 and 《the Visa Application Form for Foreign Students in China》 (JW201/JW202), the student shall apply for a visa to study in China at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General and other visa authorities abroad with the above documents and the original and copy of 《the Record of Physical Examination of Foreigners》, as well as his/her valid ordinary passport.
VII. Enrollment time
September 2026, the exact time is subject to the Admission Notice.
★ Freshmen shall report to Overseas Education College for registration according to the deadline specified in the Admission Notice with the original Admission Notice, Application Form for Visa for Foreign Students Coming to China (JW201/JW202), personal passports, medical examination certificates and other relevant documents. Those who are unable to report on time for any reason should obtain prior approval from the university. Those who do not report on time without permission are considered to have given up their enrollment status.
★ Students must report to the school with an X1 visa, otherwise the consequences will be borne by the students themselves.
VIII. Fees and Charges
1. Application Fee: RMB 800 per person (the application fee is non-refundable);
2. Tuition Fee
Master's degree students: RMB 40,000 /year (English language); RMB 35,000 /year (Chinese language);
PhD students: RMB 45,000/year (English); RMB 38,000/year (Chinese).
3. Accommodation Fee: RMB 4000/person/academic year (double room).
4. Other expenses: such as textbooks, meals, medical fees, dormitory utilities, internet, comprehensive insurance and residence permit application fees will be paid by the foreign students accordingly.
★ The above is for reference, the specific charges are subject to the pricing at the time of enrollment.
★ Full scholarship students from the Chinese government are exempted from paying the tuition fee, dormitory fee and comprehensive medical insurance fee.
IX. Scholarship Program
International students who are not awarded Chinese government scholarships can apply for Fujian Provincial Government Scholarships and Fujian Medical University Scholarships.
