VI. Application requirements
1. Nationality requirements
(1) Non Chinese citizens, physically and mentally healthy (without color blindness or color weakness).
(2) Those whose parents (one or both) are Chinese citizens and have settled in a foreign country, who have foreign nationality at the time of their birth, and who immigrate from the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan to foreign countries, as applicants for studying in China, must hold valid foreign passports or international certification documents for at least 4 years, and there is a record of actual residence abroad for at least 2 years in the past 4 years (as of April 30th of the enrollment year).
2. Age and academic requirements
Applicants for a master's degree should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications, excellent academic performance, and generally not older than 35 years old.
Applicants for a doctoral degree should have a master's degree or equivalent, have excellent academic performance, and generally be no older than 40 years old.
3. Language requirements
(1) To apply for a professional master's degree in Clinical Medicine, Oral Medicine, the applicants should know that their HSK level must be at level 5 or above.
(2) Applicants for Chinese teaching programs must have proof of HSK 5 or other equivalent Chinese proficiency tests. Applicants whose Medium of instruction during the whole learning period of the highest academic qualification is Chinese can be exempted from the certification of Chinese test results, but must submit the certification of Chinese teaching issued by the graduation college or university.
(3) Applicants for the English Teaching Program: For those whose native language is not English, English language proficiency must be supported by IELTS, TOEFL, or other English test scores (IELTS score not less than 6.0, single item score not less than 5.0; Internet-based TOEFL score is not less than 85, single item score not less than 20, or paper-based TOEFL score is not less than 580) or other equivalent English test scores; for those whose native language is English, they should submit an official proof of English language instruction from the school of graduation.
VII. Application Documents
1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (filled in online).
2. A scanned copy of the valid passport information page.
3. Notarized degree certificates, in scanned files. Applicants who have not graduated by the time of application are required to provide an official letter from their current university stating the expected graduation date.
4. Academic transcripts, in scanned files. Master's program applicants are required to submit undergraduate transcripts. Doctoral program applicants are required to submit both undergraduate and graduate transcripts. These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university's relevant office/department. If the uploaded transcripts do not directly show the total GPA, a document certifying the GPA from the school is also required.
5. Certificate of language proficiency. When applying for a Chinese-taught program, an applicant shall provide a valid HSK 5 score report. When applying for an English-taught program, an applicant shall provide a valid English proficiency certificate (TOEFL 70+ / IELTS 6.0+).
6. Pre-admission materials. An applicant should submit a
Pre-acceptance Letter.pdf from the supervisor of FJMU and a Pre-Admission Letter issued by the Overseas Education College of FJMU.
7. A study or research plan (no less than 1,000 words /character), written in Chinese or English. The plan for doctoral program shall be signed by the supervisor of FJMU.
8. Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English.
9. Published academic articles or original work (when applying for doctoral programs).
10. A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form

11. Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.
12. Other supporting documents (e.g. certificate of work or internship, award, publications, etc.).
Note: If your documents are not in English or Chinese, please have them translated into either English or Chinese by an authorized translation agency. Uploaded supporting documents must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are recommended to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials.
VIII. Application procedure
An applicant should carefully read the Instruction for Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (CGSIS) & Application Documents - for Applicants, and log in CSC Online Application System(https://www.campuschina.org/content/details3_74776.htm), fill the online Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarships accurately and completely and submit the required application materials. The Program Category is Type B. The Agency Number of Fujian Medical University is 10392.
IX. Admission and Registration
Overseas education colleges will conduct preliminary review of applicants' materials and notify applicants in written form to pay the application fee after passing the preliminary review; applicants will be allowed to undergo the academic review only after paying the application fee, which is non-refundable regardless of whether they are admitted.
2. Academic Review
Upon receipt of the notification of academic review from the College of Overseas Education, the faculty will conduct an interview (academic review) to determine the candidates to be admitted according to the applicant's situation and the requirements of admission for chosen specialty.
3. Pre-admission
Pre-admission letters will be announced after the application deadline. The College of Overseas Education will issue a pre-admission letter to the chosen candidates (
Pre-acceptance Letter.pdf will be issued to the qualified applicants and then needs to be uploaded to CSC online application system, otherwise it will be regarded as abandoned).
4. Final admission
The recommended list will be submitted to CSC by the University, and the final examination of the recommended candidates will be conducted by relevant experts to determine the candidates for admission. FJMU will send Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) to scholarship recipients.
5. Registration of new students
Every fall (subject to the admission notice). Upon receiving the admission notice, applicant shall register at FJMU within the stipulated time with all original application materials. Those who are unable to register punctually and without approval of deferred registration by FJMU will be deemed as giving up the admission and the scholarship will not be retained.
Note: If the applicant conceals relevant information or provides false materials, the Chinese government scholarship will be canceled upon discovery, and all the consequences will be borne by the applicant.
X. Others
1. Chinese Government Scholarship students are not allowed to enjoy other scholarships (excluding lump-sum rewards) established by the Chinese government and FJMU. Once found out, their eligibility for a Chinese government scholarship shall be canceled and the Chinese government scholarship already received shall be refunded. Those who intentionally conceal their financial support shall not be allowed to apply for Chinese government scholarships in three years, in addition to being disqualified.
2. Scholarship students are not allowed to change their institutions as well as their academic programs, or the duration of study specified in the Admission Letter.
